Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa Review

What can I say about Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa? I can’t wait to go back!

From the moment you arrive at the entrance, the first class amenities start. When you get out of your arrival vehicle, you are immediately greeted by a valet who offers to take your bags and ushered towards a greeter who gives you each a lei (flower leis for the girls, macadamia nut leis for the boys), and fresh water infused with fruit. You are then escorted to the front desk in the lobby for check-in.

Upon check in, you are given your Aulani celebration pins (the same you get at Walt Disney World but tailored to Aulani). You also receive room key cards with your names on them as they are “the keys to the world”. They not only open your room but you also have charging privileges on them to charge your purchases onsite to your room.

The room itself feels very luxurious and you are greeted with more swag! In the room is a tropical flower hairpiece and the classic mickey head towel display on the bed. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is perfect for two people or the whole family with a separate water closet for the toilet and a nice deep soaker tub. Oh, and don’t forget the amazing smelling body lotion, shampoo, soap, conditioner, and body wash! But my favorite feature of the room is the balcony or lanai as they say in Hawaii. I started every morning on my balcony, wearing the Aulani Spa robe provided in the room, with a cup of tea made in room with the tea that was provided.

There are lots of dining options on the resort. Everything from quick service meals, to sit down, and even a character buffet breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy! And of course, Auntie is there to guide the kids in songs and games. But if you are looking for something not on resort or maybe some items to make breakfast in your room in the morning, there is a great market across the street from Aulani. There is a small grocery store (featuring delicious Kona Brewery beer to bring back to the resort for the adults!), restaurants, and shops.

The resort grounds are big but easy to navigate and it feels like a true, relaxing, tropical resort. We spent most of our time on the beach. The water is clear and refreshing, and the lounge chairs are a great place to a take an afternoon nap.

There are loads of different pool areas including a lazy river, but they're not all for the kids. There is an adult pool, off to the side of the resort, which almost feels removed from the loudness of the other pools. The adult’s only whirlpools are infinity pools looking over the ocean and the view is breathtaking.

The spa at Aulani, Laniwaii, is a not to be missed! It’s an out of this world, luxurious experience (more to come in another blog post about Laniwaii).

This resort features the high quality of customer service we have come to love from Disney and makes you feel like you are in a true Hawaiian getaway.
